So, I’ve decided that my old theme was a tad bit busy, so I spent some of today giving Unearthing Words a fresh, clean look! I’ve really been drawn towards the single side-bar look of late and have been itching to tweak the blog with something similar. What do you think? I don’t think I’m totally done working on things. I might have my genius husband give me a more in-depth crash course in CSS so I can really make some stellar changes, but for now I’m happy.
Thank you to everyone for your sweet comments, kind words, and retweets on my post from yesterday. I really, really appreciate all the feedback and advice! I know we’ve all been there and it can be extremely difficult sometimes to admit what we’re *really* going through. I’m so thankful for each and every one of you!
I’m really glad that my fighting spirit is coming back! As someone wisely noted on the Facebook page yesterday, our online life is not as real as our “offline” life. Very, very true. I have a health condition that has been really showing its nasty side in recent months and it has been very challenging getting everything back under control. It has also been difficult keeping my emotions about said health condition in check. I know many of you understand this feeling.
I’m glad to *finally* be moving everything in the right direction! I look forward to hanging around here much more often now!
So, what have I been up to in recent months? Lots of geeky things, I assure you. I’m ashamed to say that I’m JUST NOW on Lindsay Buroker’s final book Forged in Blood II!!! I know, right? I’m a terrible person, but as mentioned above…it’s been rather busy in the real world. I’m LOVING it so far. LOVING IT. I also need to read Decrypted (again, I know, I know…please don’t throw shoes at me…) I’ve been playing lots of The Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess of late. I never thought I could love any game even close to the amount that I love Ocarina of Time, but I must say, I think Twilight Princess is coming in as a close second! If you want to see more of my Zelda obsession, check out my Pinterest page. It’s bad.
I’ve also been working a small bit on a new webcomic. Early in the summer, a story finally started creeping back into my head. I had so many vivid visual inspirations for it, though, that I decided it would be fun to try it as a webcomic first rather than dive right into a novel version. I may still do a novel version one day, but doing a webcomic has been fun. It’s called The Dusk Mother and only has 1 page currently, but I’m looking forward to adding another page this week. It’ll probably be a weekly or every 2 week update sort of deal. Let me know what you think!
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
